The Pursuit of Happyness

Review- "The Pursuit of Happyness" starring Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith, is a phenominal story of a dad struggling to provide for his son and himself. Life has dealt a tough hand, but his love for his son and his desire to be someone pushes him to strive harder than most can even imagine. Great story of love and working hard. Based on a true story, "The Pursuit of Happyness," is a great movie that will cause you to ponder about your own life.

Heads up- There is one scene where the f word is spray painted on a side of the building. Then later on the son asks his dad what the f word means, recalling back to seeing it on the wall. Other than that, the movie is very clean.

Application- The love this father has for his son is a great dipiction of God's love for us. Obviously the love depicted was still human and conditional, but helps one to think about how much God must love us in parrallel with the fathers love. God desires for us to love and care for our families, and as a husband it was an impactful reminder of that love and what it entails. The movie makes you want to lay down your life and do anything for the ones you love!
